Approach
About Steve
Steve is a Clinical and Educational and Developmental Psychologist with years of experience working across mental health, development, and behaviour at every stage of life. His approach is grounded in a simple belief: understanding your own brain is the first step toward real, lasting change. Steve takes a neuroaffirming approach to his work, with particular experience and passion for working with ADHD, Autism, and PDA presentations.
Individual Therapy
Steve provides individual therapy for adolescents and adults. Drawing on evidence-based approaches such as ACT and CBT tailored to each person. Steve's aims for his clients to leave sessions feeling empowered, understood, and confident in their ability to build a meaningful and fulfilling life.
Assessments
Steve conducts psychological and psychoeducational assessments for clients of all ages, including:
Cognitive assessments
Educational assessments for the diagnosis of specific learning disorders
ADHD assessments
Autism assessments
These assessments go beyond a diagnosis, offering a clear and practical picture of a person's cognitive, learning, and developmental profile. He is passionate about helping people see their full picture, not just the challenges, but the strengths as well, and using that understanding to guide meaningful next steps.
Assessments can help answer questions like why certain tasks feel harder than they should, why a person might need different supports than their peers, and what choices will set a student up for success in the years ahead. Steve takes care to translate assessment findings into practical, real world recommendations that people can actually use, whether that's at school, at work, or at home.
Supervision
Steve offers supervision for clinicians, as well as for provisional psychologists working toward general registration, in his capacity as a Board Approved Supervisor. His supervision style is collaborative and reflective, providing a supportive space to unpack complex cases, strengthen clinical reasoning, and develop as a practitioner.
Steve is especially well placed to support clinicians working with ADHD, autism, and PDA presentations, drawing on his own experience and passion in this area. He also brings particular strength in assessments, offering supervision to clinicians looking to build confidence and skill in this space.
